Take I-95 South toward Washington, D.C.
At the Capital Beltway (I-495) junction stay to the left and continue on I-95 South.
Proceed approximately 3 miles and take Exit 23 (Kenilworth Ave, MD 201 South toward Bladensburg/Greenbelt).
Proceed approximately three miles south on Kenilworth Ave .
Turn right onto Paint Branch Parkway for approximately one-half mile.
The Patapsco Building (5201 Paint Branch Parkway) is located on the left hand side, immediately past the MNCPPC Pool and Ice Rink facility and directly behind the Food and Drug Administration, Harvey W. Wiley Bldg.

From Virginia and Points South
Take I-95 North to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Continue North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.
Take Exit 23 (Kenilworth Ave, MD 201 South toward Bladensburg/Greenbelt).
Proceed approximately three miles south on Kenilworth Ave .
Turn right onto Paint Branch Parkway for approximately one-half mile.

From Virginia and Points West
Take I-66 East or I-270 South to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore/Silver Spring.
Take Exit 23 (Kenilworth Ave, MD 201 South toward Bladensburg/Greenbelt).
Proceed approximately three miles south on Kenilworth Ave .

From Annapolis and Points East
Take U.S. 50 to Washington, D.C.'s Capital Beltway (I-495).
Go North on I-95/I-495 toward Baltimore.

From Washington, D.C. (Northwest/Southwest)
Take 16th St. North which becomes Georgia Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line.
Go East on I-495 toward Baltimore.

Proceed approximately three miles south on Kenilworth Ave .
Turn right onto Paint Branch Parkway for approximately one-half mile.

From Washington, D.C. (Northeast/Southeast)
Take Rhode Island Ave. (U.S. 1 North) which becomes Baltimore Ave.
North at Maryland/D.C. line.
Turn right onto East West Highway (MD 410 E). 
Turn left onto Kenilworth Ave (MD 201 N).
Turn left onto Paint Branch Parkway for approximately one-half mile. 
The Patapsco Building (5201 Paint Branch Parkway) is located on the left hand side, immediately past the MNCPPC Pool and Ice Rink facility and directly behind the Food and Drug Administration, Harvey W. Wiley Bldg.

Via Air

The University of Maryland is served by three major airports - Reagan Washington National (DCA), Baltimore-Washington International (BWI), and Washington Dulles (IAD). Following are suggestions for travel to campus from these airport locations.

Reagan National Airport
Located in Arlington, Virginia, this airport is located about 15 miles south of College Park. Travel can be slow through downtown Washington, D.C. during rush hours; approximate driving time is 40 minutes.
You can take the Metrorail from the airport. Take the Yellow Line (toward Mt. Vernon Square), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at College Park/U of MD station. The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the station. Get off the Shuttle-UM at the "M" (or second) stop.
Super Shuttle is also a convenient option.
Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $40.00.

Baltimore-Washington International
Located just outside Baltimore, this airport is approximately 25 miles north of College Park. Driving time is approximately 35 minutes.
MARC Train service is available from the BWI Rail Station to College Park.
Super Shuttle is also a convenient option.
Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $35.00.


Washington Dulles International
Located near Herndon, Virginia, this airport is about 35 miles southwest of College Park. Driving time is approximately one hour.
Bus service is available to take you to the West Falls Church Metrorail station where you will take the Orange Line (toward New Carrollton), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt), and get off at College Park/U of MD station. The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the station. Get off the Shuttle-UM at the "M" (or second) stop.
Super Shuttle is also a convenient option.
Taxi service from the airport to campus will cost approximately $55.00.

Via Train - Metrorail, MARC, Amtrak

Metrorail from Washington, DC
Take the Red Line train (toward Glenmont); transfer at the Fort Totten station to the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the College Park/U of MD station.
Or take the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the College Park/U of MD station.
The Patapsco Building is a short walk from the Metro. 
Exit through the East side of the station. 
Cross through the bus stops and across River Road. 
Turn left in front of the FDA, Harvey W. Wiley Bldg. toward Paint Branch Pkwy. 
Turn right at Paint Branch Pkwy. and proceed east for one block. 
Patapsco is located directly behind the Harvey W. Wiley Bldg.
If you are proceeding to the main campus the university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the station.

MARC from Baltimore (Inner Harbor)
Take the Camden Line train (toward Washington, D.C.); get off at the College Park station.
The Patapsco Building is a short walk from the Metro. Exit through the East side of the station.
Cross through the bus stops and across River Road. Turn left in front of the FDA, Harvey W. Wiley Bldg. toward Paint Branch Pkwy.
Turn right at Paint Branch Pkwy. and proceed east for one block.
Patapsco is located directly behind the Harvey W. Wiley Bldg.
If you are proceeding to the main campus the university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the Metrorail station.

MARC from Baltimore (Penn Station/West Baltimore/BWI Airport)
Take the Penn Line train (toward Washington, D.C.); get off at Union Station.
Transfer to the Metrorail system.
Take the Red Line train (toward Glenmont); transfer at the Fort Totten station to the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt); get off at the College Park/U of MD station.
The university's Shuttle-UM buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the Metrorail station. Get off the Shuttle-UM at the "M" (or second) stop.

AMTRAK
To Washington, D.C. (Union Station): Transfer to Metrorail system. Follow directions above.
To New Carrollton, MD: Transfer to Metrorail system, taking the Orange Line to the Green Line, and following directions above.
